After a successful food venture starting in 2015 with Bristol Indonesian Society, Warung bu Dian is back for the third year, Warung bu Dian will serve her customer with her famous Beef Balls noodles soup.

Dian Hadi first came to the UK in summer 2003,  leaving behind her career as a building surveyor in Bandung to be with her husband who works as a stress engineer at Airbus, Filton, Bristol and to raise her three wonderful children.

Although she has adapted well to the everyday hustle and bustle life in Britain, her heart remained in Bandung where she grew up, graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology, got married and bear children.

Bandung is the capital city of West Java and the third largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta and Surabaya. Nicknamed Parijs van Java (Paris of Java) by the Dutch for its resemblance to Paris and European atmosphere back in Colonial times. This city is also famous as Kota Kembang or the Flower City.

Her love of Indonesian food and the lack of readily available  Indonesian dish in Bristol back in the days made her keen to learn the art of cooking Indonesian recipes. Through the encouragement of friends and family, Dian decided to start her venture in the food business by trading at the Indonesian Festival in Bristol in 2015.

Now in between her day time job as part of the Continuous Improvement team at the Royal Mail Bristol, she managed to squeeze in her hectic schedule with preparing delicious food for her clients.

You will have the chance to meet Dian through her “Warung Bu Dian” at the Festival selling her most delicious street food such as Noodle soup with beef balls (Mie Bakso) and Siomay Bandung ( fish dumplings served in peanut sauce), Lumpia Semarang (spring rolls with bamboo shoot, chicken and prawn filling) and Dawet Ayu Banjarnegara (cold jelly) dessert in sweet coconut milk and palm sugar.
